The loss of his wife will come as a huge personal loss to producer-director KR and we here at Galatta extend our heartfelt condolences to him and the bereaved family. KR has also written a book titled Idhuthaan Cinema, which was released in 2003. He was also elected as the President of the Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) in 2013 and successfully oversaw the release of several films that were delayed, while also sorting out issues like the registration of titles and providing financial support to producers. KR also stepped into direction and made his debut in Tamil in 1991 with Eeramana Rojave and has made fourteen films to date, while also making appearances in a few notable ventures. Later, he distributed several notable films over the course of his illustrious career such as Chinna Poove Mella Pesu, Guru Sishyan, Mappillai, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Punnagai Mannan, Poovizhi Vasalile, Rajadhi Raja, Thai Veedu, Thillu Mullu, Sindhu Bhairavi, Vaidehi Kathirunthal, including My Dear Kuttichathan 3D in Tamil.
Despite the film not faring as expected at the box office, it motivated him into distributing films across Tamil Nadu.
